Previous Whole House Remodel Work

Project Example 1: Braes Meadow

As an older home built in the typical closed style, this house in Houston’s Meyerland neighborhood had its owners feeling claustrophobic. They wanted an open line of sight from the front entry to the kitchen, with updated flooring, a redone fireplace, and added archways throughout.

We gave this home new life with an open floor plan by removing two load-bearing walls between the entry and den, and the den and the kitchen. New arched doorways and a gorgeous new faux wood floor made the house fit for a magazine cover, with the revitalized fireplace now the highlight of the living room.

Project Example 2: Driscoll Street

In addition to a handful of aesthetic updates, these senior customers needed some major home renovations to allow them to age in place. Their hurdles included stairs, a cramped kitchen, an outdated master bathroom, and a lifeless living room.

We took out a wall in the kitchen to open it up, as well as removed walls from the master bedroom closet that we replaced with built-in storage. The living room got black stone, accent tiles, stainless steel trim strips, and a new, modern fireplace.

Project Example 3: Quebec Drive

On this project, our team transformed a closed floor plan into a fresh, open concept. We removed three walls while leaving a partial wall as an anchor for a piano. We also installed crown molding and trim for a distinguished look and an insulated skylight for a healthy dose of full-spectrum sunshine.

How Whole House Remodeling Works

Read on for answers to some of the most common questions about whole house remodeling.

Where do we start?

Studying home magazines or searching the web can give you inspiration for remodeling your home. At our initial meeting, you can convey your vision to us and we can provide feedback and suggestions, as well.

As we move forward with design, project selection, budgeting, and other pre-construction activities, you will have ample opportunity to make sure we are on the same page so that you get the custom home of your dreams.

What does a whole house remodel cost?

The total dollar cost of a home remodel varies widely based on the scope of the work. On the low end of the spectrum, you could spend between $2 – $6 per square foot for minor updates to features like trim, paint, and flooring. Serious renovations, especially those involving kitchens and bathrooms, could push the cost up to $60 per square foot or more.

According to HomeAdvisor, the national average is about $18 per square foot.

How long does it take?

As with cost, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer here; however, most projects wrap within 3 – 9 months, after a 2 – 4 month period of design work and securing any permits and HOA approvals. It’s often necessary for homeowners to have to relocate as the construction is underway, as staying home may be very inconvenient or even unsafe.
