St. Moritz – Kitchen Renovation II

Room Kitchen
Project scope Transform a closed-off, dated kitchen into an open, modern space fit for avid chefs

The owners of this home love to cook but their old kitchen had neither the look nor the functionality they desired. Our design solved both problems, giving them a lovely area loaded with convenient features to help them get the most enjoyment out of their culinary projects.

Project Highlights

  • The floor is made of white cork, an unusual choice but perfect for standing and cooking comfortably for long periods of time.
  • In removing the furr downs, we had to reroute the A/C into the garage, which was no small task but had to be done to open up the room.
  • The Amish cabinets are loaded with clever built-in storage features, including pull-out drawers, compartmentalized cabinets, and open shelving for easy access and/or decoration. The bi-fold pantry door hides similarly roomy storage behind a compact exterior.
  • Note the four (!) stainless steel ovens: convection, microwave, conventional, and  warmer at the bottom.
